Job Fair:
Ready and Able to Work
Job seekers, your next great job is here!
What is it all about?
The Career Expo is a one-day event to be held on June 17, 2013, at the Delta Beauséjour Hotel in Moncton. This event will bring together employers, related service providers and job seekers with a disability for the purpose of networking, applying and interviewing for current and future job openings.
Maximize Your Participation - What to Expect!
The Strategic Connections: Career Expo for Persons with a Disability has two main activities for job seekers with a disability.
At the Job Fair, each employer sets up a booth. Job seekers with a disability visit the various booths to learn about the employers, identify potential employment opportunities, and apply for positions. Employer representatives are there to provide information, answer questions, collect resumes, screen candidates, and even conduct on-the-spot interviews.
A Conversation Café at noon is a time for job seekers with a disability, employers and service providers to mingle and engage in informal conversation. Networking opportunities and lunch are FREE.
Make the most of your time before you get to the Career Expo by downloading the Job Seeker's Guide to Job Fairs.
Before the Job Fair - Do Your Homework
Preparation is important. The countdown to the Job Fair means that you have cleaned and pressed your interview clothes, polished your shoes, and trimmed your hair! :-) You've updated your resume, practiced your interview technique, and even perfected your handshake. You're all ready for the big day. Or are you?
Increase your opportunity for Job Fair success - Job seekers with a disability are encouraged to get in touch with a service provider who offers employment counselling in advance of the event. They have staff who can offer advice and help you prepare for your job search. If you do not know a service provider Click here for a list of service providers in the Greater Moncton area.
